D’arcy Wretsky: Alive and… well…

DARCY

Ex-Smashing Pumpkin D’arcy Wretzky (or D’arcy Pumpkin-Ex as she’s apparently calling herself these days) called into Chicago radio station Q101 this week to check in. Here’s what we learned:

  • She likes Davy Jones from The Monkees
  • She now lives on a horse farm in Michigan but misses and loves Chicago
  • Apparently her ex-boyfriend died recently but she “hopes he’s better now”
  • She really likes Davy Jones
  • She’s also quite into this band called Panic Switch who sound an awful lot like Silversun Pickups
  • She doesn’t think Silversun sounds anything like Smashing Pumpkins
  • No dude she REALLY likes Davy Jones
  • She’s really good at sounding like she’s laughing and crying at the same time
  • She’s good pals with Brian-er… she means Marilyn Manson, and his parents are wonderful people
  • She claims to be unpredictable, saying one thing and doing another, but keeps talking in circles throughout the conversation
  • She love love LOVES Davy Jones. Davy Jones. Davy Jones. Davy Jones.
  • You know what, I still like her better than Billy Corgan

Hear these insane tidbits and more (yes, there’s more) right now by clicking here.

Davy Jones. Davy Jones. Davy Jones.

Heroin is a powerful drug, man.

Speaking of, I love where she compares performing live to “Kurt playing guitar in a wheelchair.” ‘Scuse me, D’arcy, I believe Kurt was just brought out onstage in a wheelchair…he got the guitar afterwards. You could have YouTubed this to verify before making the comparison:

    But seriously, aw, poor D’arcy.
