anna anna anna…

about time someone gave this a proper remix. here’s CFCF‘s smooooooth take on “anna” by taken by trees. in case you’ve forgotten, that’s noah “panda bear” lennox backing her up.

taken by trees – anna feat. panda bear (CFCF remix)

found this here by way of here.

come with me

new music from CEO, the new project from the tough alliance’s eric berglund. it’s called “come with me” and (surprise, surprise) it sounds like the tough alliance. fortunately, that’s a very good thing.

come with me

CEO’s debut album white magic will be out june 29 on modular. full tracklisting after the jump.

Q&A with M.I.A???

i’ll give it until noon before she has to change numbers.

M.I.A.’s new york times feature can be found here for those not in the know.

/\/\/\Y/\ comes out in july.

UPDATE: ha! turns out the number is actually for nyt columnist lynn hirschberg, who was responsible for the piece. either way, the number will probably have to be changed.

bicycle tanlines

another week, another memory tapes remix. this time, it’s tanlines‘ turn to take a crack at “bicycle,” shining it up for your next beach jaunt and returning the favor they owed dayve hawk for remixing “real life.”

hear for yourself…

my bad, teengirl fantasy

teengirl fantasy is the project of ohio-based college students logan takahashi and nick weiss. they specialize in spliced up, blissed out bedroom pop that’s equal parts chillwave and shoegaze. in other words, dreeeeeeeamy.

i’ve actually been doing a bit of an illusive dance with these guys for quite a while now. i kept stumbling across myriad remixes they’ve done for other artists i’m into but only just came across their 2009 CD-R. not sure how i missed it before. even the new york times likes them for christ’s sake.

their official debut LP is due this summer on true panther. i’ll be sure not to let that one slip past me. in the meantime, here’s a standout from their CD-R. think pictureplane sampling madvillain remixed by neon indian. yeah, exactly.

and to sweeten the deal, here are a few of their remixes, including a new one featured memoryhouse‘s new 7″ that i discovered this morning over here. as always chris, i owe you one.

memoryhouse – lately (teengirl fantasy natural mix)

light asylum – shallow tears (teengirl fantasy big room mix)

pictureplane – new mind (teengirl fantasy wide open edit)

apparently flying lotus forgot to give us this. tell you what, steven. just add this and “quakes” to your live set, bring it down to philly and we’ll call it even. k?

can you walk on water?

the confusingly named mr. little jeans is a norwegian-born, london-based singer whose sound should satisfy anyone itching for a collaboration between lykke li and the yeah yeah yeahs.

her debut EP angel comes out on 7″ next month via neon gold records. listen to a-side standout “faking gold” below.

faking gold

apparently the b-side is a cover of beyonce’s “single ladies.” should be fun.

another panic attack

fred falke has turned in another fine remix (it’s his “club” version, this time) of florrie single “panic attack.” it’s amazing how despite the endless remixes of both this and “call 911,” i have yet to tire of either song.

florrie – panic attack (fred falke club mix)

florrie has promised a new single soon and will also appear on the upcoming kitsuné vs. ponystep compilation along with lindstrøm, róisín murphy, lo-fi-fnk and more. that’ll be out on july 5.
