rocking the robyn remixes

2010 is shaping up to be a banner year for robyn and her fans alike. she made a huge splash with her performance at pitchfork music festival this past weekend (the whole of which can be sampled here). her joint “all hearts tour” with kelis begins this week on the west coast and oh yeah, she’s currently sporting one of the best albums of the year, with another potential contender dropping in september (and another who knows when after that).

needless to say, i’ve been all about the robyn this summer, and so have the remixers. i found a particularly impressive pair of remixes this morning to share with you. the first (via) is a barnstorming interpretation of body talk pt. 1 standout “none of dem” by criminals that cuts out the r√∂yksopp arrangement in favor of a rave beat. this should make for a great 1 AM pick me up:

robyn – none of dem (criminals remix)

the second one (via) is a shimmering “sundrenched FM” take on hit single “dancing on my own” by swedish producer copycat. call me crazy but i hear a hint of “since you’ve been gone” in this one. ordinarily, that would work against it for me but this song wears top 40 sheen very well.

robyn – dancing on my own (copycat’s sundrenched FM remix)

robyn’s new single, a souped up version of the formerly acoustic “hang with me” is out sept. 5. can’t wait to hear the remixes that inspires.

UPDATE: well what do you know? here’s knifey, nearly nine-minute version of it by kaiserdisco now!

robyn – hang with me (kaiserdisco remix)

thanks again sheena!
